Original 1973 Gibson EB-3 Short Scale Bass - Very Rare - Walnut Finish - Solid Mahogany Body with Rosewood Fingerboard and 3 Piece Maple Neck - Inc. Hard Case (PSGEBB)

In the 1970s the Gibson EB3 Short Scale Bass was more robust than those made in the '60s. The easily-broken one-piece mahogany neck had been replaced with a thicker three-piece maple, larger headstock and a volute.

The first two years of this remodelling in 1972 and 1973 saw acceptable sales of EB3 and because of their durability, most are still in existence today. As well as the instruments produced in Cherry and Walnut finishes, a small number were also available in Ebony (10), Natural (49) and towards the mid-late seventies, White (69) but these are very rarely seen today.

Overall, this Vintage Original 1973 Gibson EB-3 Short Scale Bass is in Excellent Condition and is one of the best examples we have seen. It is all you would expect from a Vintage Gibson which is over 40 years old. We currently have it for sale at our Retail Shop, so feel free to visit us and see it for yourself.
